Government favoured a regulatory authority in order to ensure equitable distribution and pricing of water. Speaking at the valedictory session of the three-day international conference as part of the India Water Week 2012 yesterday, Water Resources Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal underlined the need for a regulatory authority which can balance the competing demands of different sectors that use water.
