The Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju has said that the government focus is to connect all the small states with the rest of the country. The minister, who called on the Governor, Shriniwas Patil at Rajbhawan in Gangtok today, outlined various steps taken in the Aviation Sector to boost air connectivity in non-commercial routes especially North-Eastern States including Sikkim through central flagship programme UDAN.<br/><br/>Later, he also met Chief Minister Pawan Chamling. The Chief Minister has apprised him on the importance of the airport as a means of connectivity for the people of Sikkim and urged him to make the airport operational at the earliest.
