Union Energy Minister Piyush Goyal has said, the Government has fixed a target of generating 2 lakh 25 thousand megawatt of renewable energy by the year 2022. <br/><br/>Speaking at the Merchant Chamber of Commerce in Kolkata today, the Minister said, the electricity obtained from non-conventional sources is not only environment friendly, but its generation cost per unit is much less which is mere 94 paisa. He expressed hope that in coming years, the cost will go down further.<br/><br/>Mr Goyal said, the energy saving LED bulbs are now manufactured in our country and in the current year more than 16 crore 65 lakh 32 thousand LED bulbs have been manufactured. He asserted that this number will cross 77 crore by 2019.
