The government today said that it is in favour of holding a General Common Medical Entrance Test for admissions in MBBS and BDS courses but the test should be conducted from next year. During zero hour in the Lok Sabha, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said the Government has nothing to do with the decision to hold National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) replacing all other private and State medical entrance tests across the country as the Supreme Court has passed a judgement in this regard. <br/><br/>The NEET is scheduled to be held on 24th of July. Mr Naidu said, if the NEET is conducted form the next year then the students can have proper time for the preparation of the exam. He said, the government will again approach the court for this through Attorney General. Mr Naidu said, he will convey the concerns of the MPs about the exam to the Union HRD Minister and Health Minister .
