Govt failed to ensure smooth functioning of Parliament: Congress

The Congress today said the government has failed to ensure smooth functioning of both the Houses of Parliament. Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad alleged that the opposition was not taken on board and in confidence on many issues. <br/><br/>Mr Azad said, instead of isolating the opposition and having an attitude of confrontation, the government should come forward for consultations. He said the Houses could not function for few days as his party demanded resignations of Union Ministers Arun Jaitley and V K Singh over different issues. Also addressing the conference, party leader Mallikarjun Kharge denied government's charge that the Congress played the role of a destructive opposition.
