In relief to daily commuters in National Capital Delhi, the government today extended the use of old-high denomination currency notes of 500 and 1,000 rupees at metro railway stations till Saturday.<br/><br/>In yesterday's government order, Delhi Metro did not figure in the list of public utilities where the old high denomination currency would continue to be accepted for next 72 hours. Metro stations this morning refused to accept old 500 and 1,000 rupee notes. Following this, Department of Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das spoke to the Ministry of Urban Development and the error was rectified.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, National Highways Authority of India chairman has instructed all toll plazas to accept old 500, Rs 1,000 rupee notes till 11th of this month midnight, reports PTI.
