The Government on Tuesday approved the extension of service of Professor Samir K Brahmachari, Secretary, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research and Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, for a period of two years from the 1st of this month. An official release said, Mr. P K Chaudhary, Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, will hold the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, for three months with effect from the date of retirement of Ms Rita Menon or until further orders.
