Govt expanding airports in eight metro cities: Hardeep Singh Puri

The Government is expanding Airports in eight metro cities of the country. Based on the demand, the concerned airport operators have undertaken expansion works at various airports in metro cities, including expansion or reconstruction of existing Terminal buildings Chennai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Surat. Minister of Civil Aviation, Hardeep Singh Puri informed this in the Lok Sabha today during the Question Hour.<br />''<br />''Mr. Singh informed that Reconstruction of integrated terminal building and allied works in Chennai Airport; Construction of new Technical Block cum Control Tower and associated works in Kolkata; Expansion of Terminals 1 and 3 in Delhi Airport; Construction of 2nd Runway and Terminal 2 in Bengaluru; Construction of Domestic Apron including Link Taxi Track and allied works at Ahmedabad , Extension of Terminal Building and other works in Surat; Construction of ATC tower cum technical block in Vadodara are undertaken. <br />''<span style="color: #222222;"><br />''Minister also said, International Air Cargo handling facilities exist at 26 Airports including Joint Venture/Private Airports in the country and Domestic Air Cargo handling at 30 Airports.</span><br />
