Government is examining the first report of the Group of Interlocutors on Jammu and Kashmir. The Group headed by noted journalist Dilip Padgaonkar is on a second visit of the State. The Minister of State for Home Mr. Ajay Makan informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply today that a multi-disciplinary group at the state and the centre level has been entrusted with the responsibility of inquiring into the sources of funding of Kashmiri separatists. He said a number of steps have been taken by the centre for ensuring peace and order in the boarder state. They include an economic development package for Jammu and Kashmir, adequate presence of security forces to prevent infiltration and deployment of central para- military forces to assist state police. He informed the House that two development task forces have been set up for Jammu and Ladakh and Rangarajan Committee is exploring quick employment opportunities for the youth of Kashmir.
