The Government has said it is currently examining the funds requirement of public sector banks over the next 3 years and promised required capital support as part of a comprehensive package to strengthen them. Talking to reporters at an event in New Delhi yesterday, Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha said, his Ministry is trying to understand exactly what the capital requirements are going to be in the next 2-3 years for public sector banks. A high-level panel comprising Mr Sinha and Financial Services Secretary Hasmukh Adhia are assessing the capital requirement. The last meeting of the panel will be held tomorrow in Bengaluru tomorrow .
