Communications Minister Manoj Sinha today said, the optical fiber connectivity of 2(point)5 lakh villages would further empower rural India in the age of digital connectivity.<br/><br/>The minister attributed growth in telephone sector, with a billion subscribers, to key initiatives like Aadhaar based E-KYC, nation-wide MNP, Infrastructure sharing, and many others.<br/><br/>Briefing Media in New Delhi, the Minister said, the government has instilled faith in investors and ensured transparency in telecom sector. He added that the competitive auctioning of Spectrum by his ministry has silenced the critics.<br/>He said, the trust deficit which had accumulated in the tele-communications sector has been eliminated in the past 3 years.
