The government today said that it has embarked on the Passport Seva Project for speedy passport service delivery system in a timely transparent manner. Replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha, minister of state for external affairs Preneet Kaur said Tata Consultancy Services have been selected as the service provider for this operations. She informed that this is a Mission mode project under the e-governance plan of the government. Ms Kaur said its successful implementation will enhance passport service delivery to people. She informed that this Passport Seva Project has already been launched at four centres in Karnataka and is on a trial run at Chandigarh. Ms Kaur said the government is also taking remedial action for non traceable applications in passport offices in the country.
