Govt does not interfere in functioning of press in country, clarifies I&B Minister Anurag Singh Thakur

<span style="color: #222222;">Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur today made it clear that the government does not interfere in the functioning of the press in the country and does not subscribe to the view that the country is one among the last 30 countries on the ranking of 180 countries. In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, the Minister said, the rankings were published by a foreign Non-Government Organization, 'Reporters without Borders' and the government does not subscribe to the view. He reiterated that the government's policy is to uphold the freedom of press.</span><br />
