In Bihar, 24 hours government doctors strike came to an end on Wednesday morning. Health services were paralysed as doctors were on strike in protest against killing of a doctor in Gopalganj jail by the inmates. AIR Patna correspondent reports that efforts are on to restore health services in government hospitals. Meanwhile, the state government said that from now onwards doctors would not be visiting the jail ward for treatment of inmates. Home Secretary Amir Subhani told AIR that if an inmate reports illness, he would be brought to the jail hospital on a stretcher or through other means. In case of non-availability of hospitals inside the jail, a doctor from outside would visit the prison only when the jail administration ensures proper safety.
