More than 11 lakh land entitlements have already been distributed across the country among the forest dwellers so far. This was disclosed by the Tribal Welfare Minister Kanti Lal Bhuria while addressing the Standing Committee attached to his ministry in New Delhi today. He said 32 thousand such entitlements will soon be distributed among the dwellers. Mr. Kanti Lal Bhuria said that a National Tribal Welfare Council has been set up for their welfare of tribal dwellers. The Council is headed by the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Giving details of the issues that came up in the meeting for discussion, he said that a roadmap for development of forest dwellers is being presented to the Council for further course of action. He added that States have been asked to implement Forest Rights Act for the benefit of forest dwellers. State
