Government today dismissed the news reports that the then Finance Minister, P Chidambaram had delayed clearance by Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) to Aircel-Maxis deal in 2006. In a statement, it said, the report is factually incorrect and totally baseless. The government has reiterated its statement in the wake of a news report which claimed that the last month statement regarding this was far from truth. The government also said, the proposal and approval was granted in the normal course without any delay. The release said, it is unfortunate that baseless allegations are being made without verifying the facts.
