Petroleum Ministry on Wednesday dismissed media reports regarding withdrawal of the Note for EGoM about KGD-6 gas price revision at the behest of the present petroleum minister as completely baseless.

In a press note issued in New Delhi, the Ministry said that certain baseless and frivolous allegations regarding the gas pricing are reported in a section of the media.

The Press Note said that the issues pertaining to gas pricing were explained in detail in a Press Release on 1st of November, 2012 issued immediately after the present Minister took over.

It is reiterated that request of RIL regarding revision of price was rejected in October, 2010 itself and it was categorically stated that no revision of gas price can be considered before 2014.
