Govt dismisses former MD Usha Ananthasubramanian of scam-hit PNB, Allahabad bank from service

<span style="color: #222222;">The government has dismissed Usha Ananthasubramanian, former managing director of scam-hit Punjab National Bank and Allahabad Bank, from service. The government has issued a notification in this regard.<br />''</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Three months back, Ms Ananthasubramanian was divested of all her powers as MD of Allahabad Bank, after being named in a CBI charge-sheet in the 14,000 crore rupees PNB fraud case but had continued to be an employee of the bank.<br />''</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">She was to superannuate yesterday but has been dismissed from the service.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Later, a special CBI court in Mumbai took cognizance of the sanction, saying that the investigating agency can proceed and ask Ms Ananthasubramanian to appear before the court.</span><br />''  <br />
