The Government on Tuesday totally disapproved the Vaidik-Hafiz meeting in Pakistan.
In her clarifications in the Rajya Sabha, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said a detailed report has been sought from the Indian high commissioner in Pakistan over the issue.
The Minister also said the Government disassociates itself from the ideas expressed over Kashmir in the interview in question.
She strongly condemned the meeting of an Indian with the most wanted terrorist behind the Mumbai attack.
Earlier, in her statement, the Minister said the Government has nothing to do with the meeting as it was a private activity.
She categorically said the Government has not facilitated his visit in any manner whatsoever.
Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad asked why Indian journalist Vaidik was allowed to stay in Pakistan for more than three weeks.
He expressed concern that the Indian High Commission as well as intelligence agencies were unaware of his meeting with Hafiz Saeed. Both the Houses witnessed repeated adjournments over the issue on Tuesday.
