Govt determined to go ahead with economic reforms after winning Parl vote on FDI

The Government is now determined to go ahead with economic reforms after winning the Parliament vote on Foreign Direct Investment, FDI, in multi-brand Retail sector. Briefing the media in New Delhi today, Congress spokesman P C Chacko said the party is confident that the country's farmers will fully benefit from FDI and get better prices for their products.

Mr Chacko said the elections in 2014 will be fought under the leadership of Mr Rahul Gandhi. He is going to take higher responsibility in the party very soon, Mr Chacko added. In reply to
a question he said UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will continue to be the supreme leader of the Congress Party.
