Govt denies it constituting of expert committee to review the working of film institutes

The Government today denied it has constituted an expert committee to review the working of film institutes. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said, however,  his ministry had constituted an expert committee under the chairmanship of former secretary of I and B, Mr Bimal Julka in  2018 to review the functioning of autonomous bodies in the film sector.<br />''<br />''It includes Film and Television Institute of India, Pune and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">On the question of setting up more film institutes across the country, he said the government is setting up an extended campus of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata at Arunachal Pradesh to cater the needs of the people of North Eastern region. Its cost will be above two hundred crore rupees.</span><br />
