Government has decided to issue the fifth tranche of Sovereign Gold Bonds on 23rd September. An official release said applications for the bonds will be accepted from 1st to 9th of next month. The bonds will be sold through banks, Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited, designated post offices and recognised stock exchanges. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced in his Budget Speech in Parliament about developing a financial asset, Sovereign Gold Bond, as an alternative to purchasing the metal gold.
