Govt decides to hold more passport melas

The government has decided to hold more passport melas to dispose of the pile of applications and also allow the applicants to submit their documents to passport office without an online appointment. According to an official release, Regional Passport Offices, RPOs, including Passport Seva Kendras, PSKs in Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Coimbatore, Pune, Nagpur, Goa and Malappuram, will remain open tomorrow while Surat, Madurai, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Tirupati PSKs will provide services on Sunday. However, RPOs and PSKs at Delhi and Bengaluru will be opened on both the week-end days.

The applicants can fill up new application form for Passport and may visit the concerned RPO or PSK between 10 AM and 2 PM along with the self-attested copy of each of the requisite documents. These forms can also be downloaded from the website www.passportindia.gov.in The release further says that the applicant should carry original documents for verification. The applications for all passport related services ‘other than Tatkaal’ will be accepted during Passport Mela.
