Govt decides to bring resolution on Sri Lankan Tamil issue in Parliament

The government has decided to bring a resolution on the Sri Lankan Tamil issue in Parliament. The decision was taken after a Congress Core Group meeting last evening. The meeting was held after DMK Chief M. Karunanidhi announced his party's decision to withdraw support to the UPA.

Earlier, Finance Minister P Chidambaram said that the government faces no threat and that consultations have been initiated with political parties on DMK's demand.
