The Union Finance Minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee says, the government has decided duty free imports of essential commodities to check the price rise. He was speaking to newsmen at Jhangipur in Murshidabad district of West Bengal today. Mr. Mukherjee said that state governments and private players have been allowed imports of essential items like sugar, pulse, edible oil to deal with the situation. The Union Finance Minister said that recent increase of the Cash Reserve Ratio,CRR by Reserve Bank of India will help in controlling price rise. Earlier, Mr. Mukherjee inaugurated a Customer Service Point of SBI at Sanyasidanga in Murshidabad district marking the coverage of one lakh unbanked villages. Our correspondent Arijit Chakarborty reports from Jhangipur that rural people will have all banking facilities through Customer Service Point across the country where there is no branch of the nationalized banks.<br/>
