Government on Thursday strongly criticised the Opposition for demanding Home Minister P Chidambaram's resignation for his alleged involvement in the 2G Spectrum Scam. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi today, Corporate Affairs Minister Veerapa Moily said that BJP has a habit of politicising every issue. Mr Moily said that the Opposition's behaviour reflect poorly on the position of India globally and is not good for functioning of the economy.Earlier in the day Law Minister Salman Khurshid strongly defended Home Minister P Chidambaram's handling of the allocation of 2G spectrum licenses. Mr Khurshid said that Chidambaram did not do anything questionable during his tenure as the Finance Minister. He said that there were no wrong doings by Mr Chidambaram and government fully supports and stands by him. The Law Minister also stated that the Opposition's demand for Mr Chidambaram's resignation is uncalled for and unwarranted. He accused the Opposition of being politically motivated in making allegations against the Home Minister.
