The government today said it is closely monitoring and coordinating amongst intelligence agencies at the centre and the state levels to contain the activities of terrorist organisations. Replying to questions in the Lok Sabha, Minister of state for Home, Kiren Rijiju said the Multi Agency Centre (MAC) has been strengthened and reorganised to enable it to function on 24×7 basis for real time collation and sharing of intelligence with other intelligence agencies.<br/><br/>He informed the House that India has joint working groups on counter terrorism with 24 countries. Mr Rijiju informed the meetings of these joint working groups are being held from time to time to discuss counter terrorism issues including ISIS phenomenon. The minister said the central government has so far banned 39 terrorist organisations.
