Govt convenes all-party meeting tomorrow ahead of Monsoon Session of Parliament

The Government has convened an all-party meeting tomorrow ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament to seek Opposition's support for the smooth conduct of proceedings in both the Houses.<br/><br/>Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has also called a meeting of leaders of political parties in the House tomorrow evening at Parliament House. During the meeting, Ms Mahajan will seek cooperation from the floor leaders of different parties in the Lok Sabha to ensure smooth transaction of business in the House. AIR correspondents reports that a series of meetings are lined up tomorrow for Parliamentarians of the ruling NDA a day before Monsoon session of Parliament begins. Leaders of ruling NDA will meet in the evening to chalk out their strategy to counter opposition in Parliament.<br/><br/>BJP Parliamentary party executive is also meeting. It is believed that during theses meetings the BJP will also discuss the name of its Vice Presidential nominee as opposition has already declared the name of former West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi for the post. The Monsoon Session of Parliament will start from Monday and will continue till 11th of next month.<br/><br/>The current situation in Jammu and Kashmir and other issues are expected to be raised in both the Houses by the opposition while the government's achievements in the past three years, the implementation of GST and group clashes in West Bengal are likely to be raised by the treasury bench during the session.
