The centre is contemplating legislation for the development of sports at the national level and to deal with issues relating to it. Making a suo- motu statement in the Lok Sabha today, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mr. Ajay Maken said a draft paper on the proposed legislation is in public domain to seek wider opinion on the matter. Giving details of the draft paper, Mr. Makhen said that there are provisions to deal with doping, sexual harassment of women sportspersons, guidelines for prevention of age frauds and speedy redressal of sports related disputes.
