Government today constituted an Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) for on-the-spot assessment of the situation in the wake of Cyclonic storm ‘Thane’ in the Union Territory of Puducherry and State of Tamil Nadu during December, 2011.

An official release said, IMCT, lead by Ministry of Home Affairs, consist of the representatives from the Ministries/ Departments of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (Fisheries), Drinking Water, Finance (Department of Expenditure), Health, Power, Road Transport & Highways, Rural Development, Water Resources and Planning Commission.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will also be represented in the Team. The Team is to visit shortly in consultation with the Governments of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu.
