Government has constituted a committee for reviewing existing programmes and advertising which carry objectionable and obscene content. This information was given by Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today. She said that ministry had been holding consultations with all stake holders to arrive at a broad consensus on the recommendations of this committee. A task force has been set up for the purpose. The Minister added that the government has set up an electronic media monitoring centre to monitor the content telecast.
