Government is constantly monitoring the cash crunch following demonetisation of 500 and 1000 rupee notes. <br/><br/>Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, in the last two days after demonetisation, SBI alone has done 2.28 crore rupees transaction and the total banking transactions would be 4-5 times of that.<br/><br/>He said, the SBI has got 47,868 crore rupees deposits in the two days. <br/><br/>The Finance Minister appealed to people to stagger depositing defunct currency and not crowd banks. <br/><br/>Mr.Jaitley said, it will take 2 to 3 weeks times to re-calibrate two lakh ATMs to vend out new 2000 and 500 rupees notes.
