Govt considers to introduce common mobility card in country soon

The government is considering introduction of a common mobility card in the country soon. This pre-paid card can be used in public transport system including buses, taxis and metro rails. In an exclusive interview to AIR, Urban development secretary Dr Sudhir Krishna said his ministry has introduced a National Sustainable Transport Policy to look into various issues related to urban transport system.

Mr Krishna informed that the urban development ministry in association with United Nations Centre for Regional Development, Institute of Urban Transport and Ministry of Environment Government of Japan is organising a conference on sustainable mobility starting tomorrow. He said this conference will deliberate on how to make urban mobility more efficient.
