Union Agriculture Minister and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar today said that the Government is considering to grant additional subsidy to the farmers of drought affected districts of Maharashtra. A decision will be taken soon. Addressing a press conference after a party meeting in Mumbai today Pawar said Marathwada region witnessed the least rain this year.
Talking about the recent bomb blasts in Pune he said that frequent bomb blasts in Maharashtra especially in Mumbai and Pune has reflected poorly on the state administration. He asked Maharashtra Home Minister R.R. Patil to focus on improving the performance of the police and intelligence departments.
He added that the administration’s authority should be visible, assertive and effective. He also expressed unhappiness over the delay in the CCTV installations in Mumbai.
