The Centre is considering a proposal to enhance the funds under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) Scheme. <br/><br/>Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation VK Singh informed Lok Sabha yesterday that such a proposal is under consideration of Finance Ministry. Under the Scheme, each MP can suggest to the District Collector works to the tune of 5 crore rupees per year to be taken up in his or her constituency.
