<span style="color: #222222;">Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot today said in Rajya Sabha the government is committed to the welfare of SCs and STs and other weaker sections of society. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He was replying to&nbsp; a private member's resolution seeking to implement a uniform reservation system in the country.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Gehlot said the government follows laid down procedures and rules while adding or deleting&nbsp; sub- castes in the SCs or STs list. He informed the House that in the last four years, 24 castes have been included in the list and six excluded after receiving proposals from 11 States.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Later, the resolution was negated by the House with 32 members voting in favour and sixty six against. It was moved by Vishambhar Prasad Nishad of SP who said people belonging to SCs, STs and denotified&nbsp; castes are deprived of facilities because of lack of a uniform reservation system.&nbsp;</span>
