Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said the government is committed to firmly tackle Left Wing Extremism. He was making a statement in both the Houses of Parliament on the recent Maoist attack at Sukma District of Chhattisagarh which claimed 14 lives of CRPF personnel. The Minister said the government will continue the operation against the Maoists in the area. He said, sufficient resources will be made available to the security forces engaged in the operation.
The Home Minister said the government is also taking a number of steps to strengthen the State Police Force. He said, incidence of Maoist activities has been declining since 2011 and the trend is continuing. Mr Rajnath Singh said Maoists are losing their feet as security forces have strongly retaliated against them. As a result, the number of surrenders by Maoists has increased.
