Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said that the government is committed to push the growth rate at 6 to 6.5 percent in the next financial year. Speaking in a programme organized by a private New Channel in New Delhi, Mr Jaitley said that government is working very hard on reforms like insurance, coal and Goods and Services Tax, GST. The minister also said the government will try to introduce the Constitution amendment bill for GST in the current session of Parliament so that it could be discussed and considered in the next session. On the issue of subsidies and other public expenditure, Mr Jaitley said the government will take more steps to streamline public expenditure and rationalise subsidies after receiving the report of the Expenditure Commission.
