Union Power Minister, Piyush Goyal, today said, Government aims to provide assured, affordable, reliable and quality 24X 7 electric power to citizens throughout the country.<br/><br/>Mr. Goyal was addressing delegates from various State Power Distribution Companies (Discoms) and Finacial Analysts, who have gathered to assess the performance of Ujwal Discom Assurance Yojana (Uday) in New Delhi. The minister said there is no shortage for power, state Discoms have to operate with best practices and his ministry would strive to help the state governments so that the goal to provide power for all can be met. <br/><br/>Our correspondent reports, Uday was launched in November 2015 with the aim to bring maximum efficiency in the functioning of sate Discoms and reduce losses due to poor management of resources. <br/><br/>Three new states Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura today entered MoU to join Uday Scheme. Now 26 states are under the scheme and the move was hailed as significant in transforming the scenario of power sector.
