<span style="color: #222222;">Minister for Social Justice &amp; Empowerment Thawar Chand Gahlot today said, government is committed to the overall welfare of older persons and senior citizens. He said, his Ministry has initiated many new programmes and schemes for the welfare of senior citizens. He was addressing a gathering after flagging off a Walkathon for older persons and senior citizens to mark the International Day of Older Persons in New Delhi this morning.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said, under the&nbsp; Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana, physical aids and assistive living devices like wheel chairs, hearing aids, spectacles, support stick set care have been distributed so far. The scheme was initiated in 2017 and so far 1 lakh 13 thousand Vayoshri camps had been organised to distribute these aids. Senior citizens in a large number from all parts of Delhi took part in the Walkathon. The event consisted of Police Band performance, Cultural and musical programmes by Senior citizens and Yoga &amp; fitness session with Police Band.</span><br />
