The Government is committed to improve the macro, medium and micro level sector to boost economy of the country. The Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Mr. Srikant Jena said the Government's flagship programmes, including MGNREGA, National Rural Health Mission and Bharat Nirman have helped a number of establishments in the economy.He was addressing a conference of Sate planning Secretaries and Directors of Economics for conducting Sixth Economic Census in NewDelhi today. Mr Jena said that micro small and medium sector was a catalyst for balanced and inclusive growth.Referring to Economic Census that will held next year, Mr. Jena said around eight lakhs enumerators and supervisors will have to be engaged during the fieldwork of this massive exercise.Emphasizing the need of a proper publicity plan at all levels to create public awareness in this work, the Minister said the key objective of the census was to provide basic information for planning purposes in the country.
