Government today said that it will encourage private sectors to create a vibrant market for the small scale handicraft industry. Inaugurating an exhibition of artisans and weavers in New Delhi, Minister of state for Communications and IT, Sachin Pilot said that government is taking effective measures to overcome the shortcomings prevailing in marketing of the industry. He added that government is committed to improve the condition of handicraft sector which plays a significant role in the economy. Mr. Pilot also said that Ministry of Textiles is implementing various promotional and developmental schemes for holistic growth of the the industry.
