Environment Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said the government is committed to harness science and technology for the preservation of the environment. Addressing a function in New Delhi today, he emphasized that research has to be increasingly made people-centric and research must find solutions to the problems of the people. <br/><br/>Dr Harsh Vardhan said that real-time water and air quality monitoring is another initiative of the government towards scientific social responsibility. The Minister said, national missions like Namami Gange needs help from scientists. <br/><br/>He also stated that development and application of advanced tools and techniques by leading Indian and US institutions for real time water and air quality monitoring is of utmost importance to address the critical scientific challenges involved.
