Govt committed to ensure job, wage and social security: Dattatreya

Government is committed to ensure job security, wage security and social security for all. Briefing media in New Delhi on two years of NDA government, Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said social security for all has been a priority for the government. He said due to the initiatives of the NDA government, world is witnessing the emergence of a strong India.<br/><br/>On reforms, Mr Dattatreya said government has simplified the procedures and compliance mechanism ensuring transparency. He said the Ministry is working to simplfy, consolidate and rationalize the provisions of the 43 labour laws in 4 Labour Codes – Labour Code on Wages, Industrial Relations, Social Security and Welfare and Safety and Working Conditions.<br/><br/>He informed that Government has ensured the minimum pension of Rs 1000 per month, benefiting 20 lakh pensioners.<br/>The Minister said employment generation is a priority area for the Ministry and there has been a substantial increase in job creation in the last two years. He said National Career Service Project was launched for transforming and strengthening the public employment service in the country. Mr Dattatreya said hundred Model Career Service Centres are being established and operationalized in collaboration with states. He further said 21 Vocational Rehabilitation Centres have been set up for handicapped to provide training, guidance, and career counselling.
