The government remains fully committed to ensure balanced regional growth and reduction of inequalities.

Giving this information in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, the Minister of State for Planning, Dr Ashwani Kumar said the Approach Paper to the 12th Five Year Plan also emphasized the need to build upon the achievements of the 11th Five Year Plan and strive for faster, sustainable and more inclusive growth.

He said it will further help in reducing economic disparities in India in the future.
