The Government says that it is committed to encourage energy saving as a policy matter. Addressing a gathering of the Light Emitting Diode (LED) Manufacturers in New Delhi today, the Minister of State for Power, Mr. Bharat Singh Solanki said that the government is keen on promoting LED lamps as it save 85 per cent of the electricity when compared to conventional bulbs. He advised the manufacturers to reduce the cost of the lamp so that it could be popular among common man.
