Govt committed to double income of farmers by 2022: Rajnath Singh

Government is committed to double the income of all farmers by 2022, much ahead of time frame set by the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. <br/><br/>Home Minister Rajnath Singh said this today in his valedictory address on the concluding day of the international conference on Rule of Law for Supporting the 2030 Development Agenda/Sustainable Development Goals. Mr Singh said Centre has adopted a zero tolerance policy against hunger. He said India will be successful able to end hunger by 2030. <br/><br/>The Home Minister also said poverty eradication is the greatest global challenge and top most priority for India. He said Government is exploring new ways to empower women by providing equal opportunity in political, economic and public life.<br/> <br/>In his address, Environment and Forest Minister Prakash Javadekar said Narendra Modi government is committed to ensure growth as well as work towards environment conservation. He said coal conservation is a hazard but a mainstay in developing countries. Mr Javadekar said India's coal consumption is 50 percent that of which US consumes despite having tremendous shale gas.
