Government has come out with a two-pronged strategy to reach out to tribals to address their problems regarding ownership of land. Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh said the strategy includes providing legal assistance to tribals on their land disputes and modernisation of their land records. He said, this will be discussed at a meeting of the Collectors of the 60 Maoist-affected districts on the 13th of this month. The Minister said, these schemes will be implemented in 9 states including Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
