Government has given clearances to more Hydro-power projects to increase its share in power generation. A detailed project report has also been prepared to add the capacity in power generation during 12th five year plan. Government has prepared a tentative list of hydro projects generating 17 thousand Mega Watts which will be completed up to 2017. During 11th five year plan the share of hydro power has declined to 22.31 per cent from 26.19 per cent in the total installed capacity of the country.
