Government has approved six proposals of Foreign Direct Investment, FDI, amounting to around 733 Crore rupees. These proposals include a 285 crore rupees proposal of SIDBI Social Venture Trust of Mumbai, around 358 crore rupees proposal of Navayuga Road Projects Pvt. Ltd of Hyderabad and over 82 crore rupees proposal of civil aviation sector. According to an official release, the proposals have been approved on the recommendations of Foreign Investment Promotion Board.
The Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) headed by Economic Affairs Secretary Arvind Mayaram, also cleared the proposal of around 81 crore of AirAsia Investment Ltd, Malaysia, to set up a Joint Venture company to undertake the operation of scheduled passenger airlines.
